back from the grave?

Holy crap on a stick! Can this really be possible? Is this an update?
To all skeptics out there: yes, this really is an update!

It has been around two years since I have last posted on this blog, but from now on I'm going to try and do it regularly. After all, all the cool kids blog.

So... what's new, you might ask? Well, I have graduated from College and I'm now taking some time to explore my options.
More specifically, I'm focusing on getting started as a freelance web designer, while also working on several other side projects.

In the next couple of days I'll be posting some more updates, including some more juice details on a secret little project I'm working on with my good friend Matt Lowery. I promise it will be full of lulz and funny. ;-)

I'll also take the opportunity to show you people a couple more sketches I've done lately. I pretty much stopped drawing around the time I stopped updating this blog, but I have recently picked up again and I'm pretty psyched about it - let's just hope it'll last this time.

See you soon.

meh...

What can I say? Well... meh.

I didn't finish the first strip. I guess I still need some more training first. So, I'll just leave you with a little sketch of the main characters:

Maybe one of these days I'll be good enough to make the first strip. Until then, I'll keep practicing.

Have a nice week, n3c.

The Creation Of... JP!

Here it is: my first attempt at drawing my best friend, JP.
I used a different style from my previous drawings, but I really like this one better. I used Penny Arcade style as an inspiration, because Mike Krahulik's drawing style kicks ass!
Anyway, back to the drawing itself: it is supposed to represent my long time friend, JP, who's going to be the mate of a character based on me. They'll both have crazy and random adventures that will either be based on things that we've been through or completely made up.
I hope to have my first strip ready by next week, but with all the work from College it might be a little hard.

I hope to get some feedback.

Gotta get some cash...

Yeah, that pretty much explains how I feel. =P
Anyway, this was my first attempt at making a comic-strip. It took me quite a while to put everything together, but I did the coloring faster than my last attempt (with Mister Basic, on a previous post of mine). I also used another method to color the picture, which, I believe, got me a better result - both time and quality wise.
If you look closely at the drawing, you'll notice a bunch of new things, such as: the use of pants, shoes and a shirt! I must say I'm quite proud of myself, hehe. =P
This was my first try at drawing any of those things, but I think it didn't went out all that bad.

I hope you enjoy reading the comic. It's more of an inside joke than anything else, since I have to play Neverwinter Nights 2 with the graphics at the minimum for the game to run...
Which is a shame, because the game is really cool and I'd love to play it in a decent computer.

I'd love to get some comments, feedback and all that usual crap ;-)

PS: Click on the comic-strip to see the picture in its real size.

Neverwinter Nights

I've been playing Neverwinter Nights, the Original Campaign, for the last few days. I've never got so addicted to a game (well, maybe when I played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic).
I've had this game for a few years already, however I never got really into it because I'd usually end up changing my mind about what weapons to use - and since character building is really important in this game, I'd usually end up with a crappy, weak character because I'd end up changing weapons (they all look so cool, it's hard to decide) and I'd ruin the whole "specialization" thingie.

But this time I decided to be a Ranger (the cool guys that shoot arrows). So, I was already quite ahead in the game when... I found a cooler looking weapon: the Great Axe. So, since I didn't want to start it all again, I decided to keep going and specialize in the use of the Great Axe instead. The result was a mixture of Ranger (6 levels) and Fighter (with 12 levels). I can't say my character was strong, but I was able to finish the campaign (in the easy setting).

This is how my character looked like almost at the end:

I got the red armor thingie after killing a huge red dragon (don't worry, it was evil).
And as you can see: my cool Great Axe (it left a trail of that green, radioactive goop all over the place, but I was an Adventurous Elf Ranger/Fighter and not a maid, hehe).

Neverwinter Nights really is a kick ass game. Especially if you're into RPG's (and this is one of the fews that use the D&D rules).
I don't know if my computer can run Neverwinter Nights 2, but I'm definitely going to try (my computer meets the minimum requirements).
If you're curious about it, check it's trailer at: Neverwinter Nights 2 Website (I thought it was really, really cool).

Photoshop Master (or not)

I've been playing around with Photoshop, trying to gussy up my little drawing and this is what I got:
I can't say it's a work of art, but I'm quite happy with the result. And since this was my first time retouching a picture, I believe the result wasn't all that bad.

One of these days I'll make another drawing and then I'll try to retouch it with Photoshop again. Maybe I'll get better through practice.

Hope to see some more comments (Lilian, I'm looking at you) ;-)

Learning to draw...

I'm going to try to learn to draw. I've always wanted to have one of those nice web comics website, so I might as well try to learn how to draw.

This was my first attempt, so it's not very good:
I scanned it to my computer and resized it with Photoshop.
Tomorrow - or so - I'm going to use Photoshop to embellish the picture and, maybe, add some colors. So, be sure to check out tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone that drops by.
And feel free to comment!
